I´m going to celebrate Christmas alone this year with my Mom. Her boyfriend has to work and my sister celebrates it with her boryfriend and his family. :/ … My only wish is that my Mom enjoys Christmas. She always has to work ( She´s a postwoman and working outside in the cold) and is so exhausted, tired and stressed when she comes home. Sometimes it feels like Christmas is also just work for her and not fun. So my wish is for her not to be all of the above and to enjoy it (and to have fun). 🙂

You see we have been blessed with so many miracles over this last year: my mammogram follow-up came back negative, my dad’s prostate cancer caught early, and all the little things that we tend to over look. Well, this was a difficult year. Soo many bad things happened, but some good things happened too.
So, my desire for Christmas is more than ever, to be with all the people I love. This will make the bad things small compared to the love of everyone celebrating together.

I’d love for my endometriosis to not flare up anymore, so I can do the things I want to do without having to carry a supply of painkillers at all times. It’d be nice not having to schedule rest days around any activity or having to cancel plans due to pain or fatigue.

I’m not wealthy, I’m getting old, and have quite a few health problems, but God blessed me by allowing me to wake up this morning, so getting up and staying busy is a plus. My Christmas wish is for my husband to take more steps to being happy with the person he is and in his own skin in the coming year. He was in the Canadian Military for 22 years, went overseas to a few places (Bosnia, Rwanda, etc) and saw and did things no one should ever have to see or do. He came back… different. PTSD took it’s tole on him and at times our marriage, but we’ve managed to come out the other side okay. He still struggles at times with memories or in situations (ie. crowds/loud places) and tends to shut down but he’s gotten so much better. And at times; rare, beautiful times; I get to see the man I married shine through. I wish him continued success in his healing process. That is my Christmas wish. (Sorry so long!)

I normally never have a Christmas wish. I’m quite content with what I’ve got, to be honest. However, this year I wish the water system would work, the electricity would be back on, and maybe a little better internet in my home town. Because it’s the season of giving, not the season of taking away the people’s needs.
